Birding 200

A phenomenon is sweeping through the UK birding scene, the  “My 200 Bird Year list” run by Bird Watching Magazine, and what has become obvious is that quite a few of Birding Ecosse participants are taking part and using our tours to connect with some of the hard to get Highland species.Well here at Birding Ecosse this got us thinking and it has transpired that
1: We quite fancy having a go ourselves in 2022 and
2: It would make a great addition to the Birding Ecosse trips and tour itinerary.So to that extent, welcome to the “Birding 200” tour.  A bespoke tour just for people wanting to expand their year list.

Needing Crested Tit, Snow Bunting and Crossbill? Then book on a bespoke Winter tour. Looking for Petrels, Skuas and Shearwaters? Then book us for our Pelagic Trips in August and September.

Slavonian Grebes,  Red Necked Phalaropes and Corncrakes? (these being Schedule 1 protected species they will all be viewed safely in recognised viewing areas that prevent any disturbance) then book a short trip to the Outer Hebrides in May and June. Ptarmigan and Divers? Book on our West Coast Tour.

And not forgetting the bread and butter birds to pad out your 200 year list such as Velvet Scoter, Osprey, Long Tailed Duck, Golden and White Tailed Eagles, Red and Black Grouse, Short eared Owl, Greenshank and many more.

Pick up and drop off at your accommodation, all transport and guiding, tea/coffees and snacks throughout the day, free use of Binoculars and Telescopes if required during the day (if you want to travel light) free complimentary checklist for the day.

Ferry Crossings, accommodation, lunches and,  pick up and drop off at Inverness Airport and Aviemore or Inverness Railway stations (this service may not be possible due to other commitments)  can be added on,  as and if you require, just ask when you call for your quote.
