Yellow Browed Warbler, a real possibility on todays trip.

Today we head North to a migrant Hot Spot, last year it turned up no less than three Yellow Browed Warblers, Lesser Whitethroat and a host of common migrants. The area also boasts some fantastic sea watching so we will be keeping our eyes peeled for some unusual Shearwaters, Skuas and Gulls!

Black Throated Diver

Today we stay inland, once again searching for newly arrived migrants and breeding residents returning to their breeding grounds, like the Black Throated Diver pictured above. The local Slavonian Grebes should be back on a local fishing lochan, and by booking in  at the Grant Arms Hotel you get exclusive use of the BWWCs very own hide, be prepared for some stunning views!  Finally a trip to Raptor valley should not only provide views of Golden Eagle, but we may be lucky enough to catch up wth a newly arrived Ring Ouzel.

A visit to the Isle of Handa today, birdwatching Nirvana! A short boat trip across from the mainland should give up good views of Black Guillemot and the first look at the Great and Arctic Skuas that will be the target birds for this trip.

Handa has quite a long uphill walk to get to the Puffin colony, so stout footwear and a basic level of fitness is required for this trip.
